The quality restaurant scene in Ibiza is thriving. From Ibiza Town, to the beaches and just about everywhere in between. You are probably never more than five minutes away from a good restaurant, so we have not even attempted to include them all here.
If you are looking for excellent food, a night out in a fabulous setting, or if you just want to impress the 'trade' by spending a fortune and producing the black Amex, you cannot fail to find somewhere in Ibiza. But, do not expect to find all three in one.
Some of the strangest little places produce the best food. Some very mediocre restaurants are set in the most stunning locations, and one or two survive strictly on their reputation - and they know how to charge for every single thought of it.
Don't forget, you will need a reservation for most restaurants in high season. If you don't reserve a table you could spend the whole evening wandering around town and then end up doing 'the walk of terminal regret' (to the Pizza Hut) - Alternativly known as 'the walk of terminal shame' if it is your first choice.
You will need at least two weeks to even start to try the better restaurants in Ibiza town, most of which are within walking distance of each other. This includes most of our favourite restaurants included in this section (we do not travel well).
A short warning...in the height of the season (mainly August) expect to be entertained...everything from Flamenco to bag pipes.
Do not be afraid.
This is quite normal - you are a tourist - enjoy it...
But, should this sound like too much to deal with, book a table inside the restaurant (most are Air Conditioned). The food tastes much better and you should be able to make it all the way through to a dessert.
So, apart from the food, the atmosphere, and the service, eat somewhere where the staff at least act as if they like you, (this can, just occasionally, be problematical in Ibiza as the staff suffer after a night out clubbing just as much as anyone else.)
If you do find yourself feeling uncomfortable in a restaurant, politely complain. Things should soon be sorted out, or you may discover, against all the outward appearances, that you are unwittingly giving your hard earned money to a rude, arrogant, ignorant bastard - there are a couple about. (But not on this website.)
