This is my favourite place to eat.

Having survived a week clubbing in Ibiza, taking a night off for dinner at La Scala is better than soaking in a hot tub (after two hours mud wrestling with a reluctant cab driver).

If you are looking for a great restaurant, in a great location, La Scala just about provides everything.

Hosted by Beda & Joachim (Joachim manages the front of house, and Beda the kitchen), the restaurant is situated in Dalt Vila, at the top of Sa Carossa (instead of turning off for Anfora, carry on walking towards La Muralla, it's the last restaurant you will hit). Nestling in a corner, protected and secluded by The Rampart walls, this is 'the' location for a quiet (romantic?) meal.

The inside is relatively small, but the terrace provides the main selling point of this restaurant. The atmosphere is stunning, and the ambience as relaxing as Ibiza can be. You are on another island compared to Calle de La Virgen, and another world compared to the club scene.

Joachim and staff are always charming, friendly, and professional. The food is Swiss/International and covers all the usual bases, fish, game, meat, pasta etc. You can easily enjoy three courses, and leave the selection of wine to Joachim. He never fails to provide an excellent choice to accompany your meal.

Highly recommended, for the quality of the food, the style; the setting; the ambience and the service. You absolutely must try this place if you are looking for a very relaxing night out.
