La Ventana is best known as being one of the islands 'boutique' hotels. Given its setting and atmosphere I am not surprised. I have still never stayed there but I have spent some time in the restaurant. The hotel was taken over this summer (2006) by Pepita and Tony who own the El Portalon Restaurant and Navila Hotel.

The hotel is now managed by Sam, who previously was the general manager of ANFORA disco. Sam reopened the Restaurant at the beginning of June with chef, Patrick who joined Sam from Paris.

The food and atmosphere are great, and the setting just as special as El Bistro and La Scala, its nearest neighbours, benefiting from the peaceful atmosphere in this corner of the Dalt Vila, making the restaurant feel very intimate and 'romantic' even outside on the terrace. (There are lots of couples here.)

The interior is charming, relaxing and comfortable, and is great for a night out with friends early season, before the terrace opens. The terrace itself is in an excellent position,

The cuisine is very French with some amazing touches. The quality is great and the choice wide enough to eat there every week. Prices are at the higher end of the Ibiza eating out scale, but the menu does offer some imagination and originality.

Choose La Ventana if you want an 'away from it all' evening out, with someone you are 'intending on', or having a bit of a celebration. Like most of the restaurants in the Dalt Vila, if there is a (larger) group of you book in advance.
