Unlikely to be found in any holiday brochures, the Bimbi is a cheap, clean, simple hostal on Calle Ramon Muntaner, in Figueretes (the same street as the Sud- heading back towards Ibiza town - the back way).

A good choice if you are on a serious budget - or were hooked on the Sud apartments - this is the nearest alternative, but without the views, or space, it is sort of perfect for backpackers - being BUDGET with a big BIG B.

You'll get a small room, with two singles or a double bed, a wardrobe, and a washbasin (but you may have to share the bathroom facilities with a bunch of strangers). Convenient for both the gay scene in Ibiza Town, buses to the gay beach and beyond, and spitting distance from the beach at Figueretes.

Not luxury, but very clean, and (shared bathroom aside) very private (there is no reception, so no one sees how dodgy your trade is, if you make it home at all). You won't keep bumping into your shags every time you step out of your room ('Sud Syndrome').

There is a 'cheap and cheerful' cafe underneath the hostel, serving Spanish style burgers, etc. But quite frankly, the name itself is what made me stay there.

Not recommended for wheelchair users (access is by way of a staircase), otherwise you will be able to practice your trampolining, trying to see yourself in the highly placed but small bedroom mirrors...
