The Montesol may be the most recognisable landmark in Ibiza, and it just oozes character. The hotel is set right on the corner of the town square and the harbour. Sitting at the hotel terrace having a coffee is one of 'the' pastimes in Ibiza, that just about everyone has done - and if not should.
Only recently have the package holiday companies started offering the Montesol, previously this is one of those places that you were likely to stay when looking for somewhere else having arrived on a late flight.
 The rooms are clean tidy and charming (in a 'times past' sort of way) and like most city hotels, the rooms are great for 'sleeping in', and everything is right on the doorstep.
The rooms are air conditioned, and for the price, if you are out there for the Ibiza scene, this is just about as central as you can get.
I have no idea of how easy it is to receive gentlemen callers in this hotel.
Needless to say some of the rooms can suffer from street noise.
The Montesol does just about appear in every picture book of Ibiza that has ever been published.
